Al shot 72-75 for a two round total of 147. A dude shot a 65 today and ran away with it. He'll be in college next year and has tremendous potential.

Bill Dickey Invitational

Tonight we attended the Welcome Reception of the Bill Dickey Invitational golf tournament. I took a picture with Eddie Payton (Walter's brother).

Orlando Golf Trip

I'm here with Al at the Bill Dickey Invitational golf tournament in Orlando. It's an invitation only tournament that features some of the best minority golfers in the United States. The players room together, have curfews, wake up calls, and spend time together. Tiger Woods niece, Cheyenne is in the field.
As sort of an ice breaker, they had the kids fill out questionnaires/profiles about themselves. Then they had the kids stand up and read each other's profile. One of the girls read a profile of another female golfer who's last name is Payton. One of the questions is, "who is your hero?" She wrote, "My uncle, Walter".

SexEd

Teaching the SexEd series has been fun and interesting. I've been getting positive feedback. This is a subject that the Church needs to address. The evil one is getting his message out loud and clear. A school teacher told me today that kids are talking sex in the 4th grade. I even heard of a 3rd grader discussing the subject. I am glad to get God's truth out on the subject of Sex. Everything God made was good, including sex. So ministers shouldn't be afraid to talk about it. The bottom line for me is people being helped, delivered, and set free. And thank God, although quietly, that is happening. I am excited about what our young people don't have to go through because they get a hold of this message.

Golf week

The Golf season kicks into high gear with our kids. Al had a good performance in State this Tues/Wed (9th place) and has been showing tremendous progress. He made first team All - State. He has some big tournaments coming up. He has been invited to participate in the Bill Dickey Invitational @ Disney World. It features some of the best minority talent in the United States. Cheyenne Woods (Tiger's niece) is participating. She is quite good. She is going to Wake Forest this year as a freshman on a golf scholarship.
Al, Jasmine, and Annika all have a busy summer playing in golf tournaments. Carla is with Jasmine today in Auburn for a tournament. I'm staying home to do some work. Depending on how much I get done, I may go up to see some of her round. It all depends on how much I get done.
I look forward to ministering the Word tonight at Kingdom Door here in Fort Wayne. Busy but fun day!

I believe in God and I believe in love

1John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Believe the love that God has for you today. Believe in the fact that God loves you so much that He won't let you fail. He wants you to succeed. He doesn't want you to lose, He wants you to win. His thoughts of you are good and not evil, to prosper you, not to harm you; to give you a future and a hope. (Jer 29:11).
Believe in God, believe in His love!

Time in prayer saves you time

As I was praying today I thought about an experience I had yesterday. As I was driving, I was about to move into another lane when somebody that I didn't see was on my blind side. I almost ran right into that car, but I swerved back into my lane and avoided the accident.
As I was praying today, I thought about my prayer life. I know that what saved me from having an accident in that situation, was God's protection. In my prayer time that morning, I pleaded the blood of Jesus over myself and my family and over all our possessions.
Don't become so busy that you don't make time to pray. I truly believe that it was my prayer life, the time I spend with God and the relationship that I have with Him, that kept me safe on the road yesterday. Spending a peaceful time in prayer this morning, I thought about how prayer saves time. Had I been in an accident, I could have been in the hospital or spending my time making arrangements to have my car fixed. But instead, because of God's protection, praise God I don't have to do any of that. I can spend my time today serving God, being fruitful, and sharing this testimony with you!

Getting out of your comfort zone

Here's a quote I just stumbled upon: "None of us learn unless we're outside our comfort zone. If you're doing something that you really know how to do well, you're not learning anything; you're just practicing skills".
Good stuff! Get out of your comfort zone and learn new stuff, new skills, new ideas, new ways of doing things, and new insights.
