27th Anniversary

On Friday Carla and I celebrated our anniversary. We enjoyed dinner at Eddie Merlot's. I truly am blessed to have such a wonderful wife. Still fine after 27 yrs (and so is she! :)

Birthday Girl

Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I last blogged! Anyway, ..........................

Yesterday was my lovely wife Carla's birthday. We spent the evening together: shopping at Susan's (one of her favorite boutiques), dining at Catablu's, dessert at DeBrands, and a movie with the family (well, sort of because I went and chilled in another room :) I am truly grateful to God for blessing me with such a wonderful, holy, devoted, dedicated, passionate, fun loving, special, enthusiastic, and beautiful/hot/awesome looking woman of God. And thank you for all of the birthday shout outs to her via twitter, Facebook, Unifyer, text and voice mail messages. Isn't it wonderful how you can use these social networking tools to touch someone's life? I can tell you that it was really a blessing to Carla that you took the time to give her a birthday greeting. Oh, and thanks also for all the flowers, cards, and gifts. And special thanks to my Summit Church family for helping to make my wife's day special.

Tonex, Geo-tagging, and a Missed Opportunity

Ran into Tonex at a Ohio Travel Plaza on the way back from a Spring Break family trip at the Kalahari 

in Sandusky, OH. My daughter Adrienne took a picture with him.

Since I took a picture with my iPhone and uploaded it to iPhoto, I remembered about the geo-tagging feature in the latest version of iPhoto. I went into the information about the picture and voilà, it gave me the exact location of where we were in Ohio! Cool feature. Previously, I didn't think geo-tagging was that big a deal. But I was wrong. I think it will be very useful as I travel the globe. I have to remind myself, we are Summit Ministries International :-)

After I left the travel Plaza, I was talking to my band director (Floyd Thomas) about seeing Tonex. And he told me about some of the things that Tonex has been through the past few years. When he told me that, I was a little disappointed because I began to think that I missed an opportunity to minister to him. I don't think it was an accident that we were at the same travel stop at the same time. I really believe that I was supposed to minister to him and encourage him, and I blew it; plain and simple. You probably already know this, but Pastor's miss it too. Purpose to always be sensitive to the Spirit of God and take advantage of every opportunity to minister as the Spirit of God leads you. Because if you miss it, that opportunity may leave you and never return again. I repented, thank God for His love, forgiveness, and mercy.

A cool Fall night at the Jennings crib

Well, this is an exciting night for the Jennings family. We're finally going to do s'mores. A couple of days ago we were all prepared to do the s'mores thing in our backyard with the fire pit. However, it rained on our parade. Now, it hadn't rained in six months, and then when we finally decide to do s'mores, it rains all night. And what's funny about that is, we have been patiently waiting for a day when everybody was home together and when that night came, it pours down raining! Our kids were really excited about it; especially Annika and Adrienne. I must admit, that I'm was a little excited about it too! So tonight if finally happened.

Live at Adrienne's Graduation/Birthday Party

Carla and I are LIVE in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at Adrienne's and Kyana's birthday graduation party. Here is a picture of Carla, Adrienne, with her friend Kyana who is coming to Fort Wayne to assist Adrienne in the youth ministry. We are excited about what they will invest in our youth. Adrienne Graduation

Adrienne is graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center (Tulsa, OK) this Friday. Carla and I are so proud of her following the call of God on her life. She will be coming home soon to lead the Summit Youth ministry. The D.Montrell concert is coming up, so she will hit the ground running. Coming home with her is another Rhema graduate who will assist her. Summit (members) please join me in welcoming her friend, Kyana to our team. I am excited about getting the youth ministry started again.
