North location possibility

This movie theatre on the city's north side is at the top of my list for our next multi-site. Please keep this in your prayers. The big screen is conducive to hosting a video venue. It is available to us and I'm in the beginning planning stages. I appreciate your prayers and support.

Multi-site conference

On my way home from the encounter's today, I thought about an interesting concept that I experienced at the conference that I didn't talk about today. The church that hosted the conference is called North Coast church. They are located in Vista, CA (a suburb of San Diego).
Although they do have multi-site venues in different locations, most of their venues are on the same campus! For example, they have one that is called the "Edge", which is more "edgy". They have another that is called "Traditions", which focuses on a traditional style of worship with hymnals and a traditional format. Another venue is called the "Video Cafe" which is very contemporary in their style. And still another venue is called "North Coast Live", which is another style of contemporary. They even have a "country/western" style venue.
And keep in mind, this is all happening on the same campus. So everybody goes to the venue that they prefer, and it still has the feel of "one church." The thing that is the same and remains constant at every venue is the message. Everyone gets the same message. Only one of the venue's is live and the rest are video venues. Also, I think it was kind of neat that they had a commons area towards the middle of the campus where people could congregate and fellowship together regardless of their venue of choice. It's cutting edge and radical and I love it. They serve about 6600 people.

Multi-site conference

I just got back from a multi-site conference in San Diego. I must tell you it was great to escape this cold weather for minute. But I have to tell you, I am fired up about multi-site more than ever before. I mean, I was excited before, but now this conference has put me over the top; to the point that I am now in a new realm of faith about doing multi-site.
The sessions gave a great overview of what multi-site is all about and what makes it effective and conducive to the culture that we live in. And it also included practical information on how to launch a new site from start to finish. So I walked away from the conference with detailed information of the start-up costs that are needed. However, the bottom line to all of this is reaching more people for Jesus. Multi-site is a great tool to fulfill the Great commission. And that's what it's all about. The next step for me is to put a launch team together and put a plan in place to have a multi-site up and running by September or October of this year. I am targeting the north side of town for the first site and I'm training Wes Jackson as the campus pastor.
