The Power of Your Words

Last Night was awesome! We ministered on The Power of Your Words! Here are the points that I used:

1. There is a Spiritual Realm that listens to you.

2. God is waiting on you to start speaking His word so that He can perform it.

3. What's in you will eventually come out of you.

WE HAD AN AWESOME TIME....GREAT FELLOWSHIP....AWESOME GAMES....IT WAS THE BEST!!!!!!

Sex and Dating

Hey parents and students! Sunday at Ignite I ministered to the youth on sex and dating. I really believe that God showed up and said what He wanted to say. We'll continue with this subject next week in a different setting. It's going to be good. Here are some of the key points from what I taught. Feel free to comment : )

* Satan uses whatever he can to get you out God's reach and his goal is to get you to reject God and His word.

* Satan's plan is to fog up your vision so that you don't see the whole picture.
For example: He wants you to think that oral sex is okay since it isn't intercourse. But the truth is... ORAL SEX IS SEX.

* Is it okay to flirt? No. Flirting gives satan permission to have his way.

* If you have to ask yourself if something is okay to do, it usually isn't.

1 Thess. 4:1-8

* God is going to hold you responsible for how you treated your body while you were on this earth.

* Your body is God's vesel.

* Sexual Intercourse is a symbol of covenant in marriage.

* When you become sexually active with someone you are sharing covenant with them. That's why it's hard to get that person out of your head once you have had sex with them.

* God designed sex, but if someone misuses what He designed, He doesn't like it and He doesn't have any part in it.

* When you engage in sexual sin, you are giving Satan permission to take over you. You may begin to get involved in things that you never thought you would do. But since you let satan in your life, he took over.

* More and more teenagers are getting involved with homosexuality. In some way, those teenagers have opened the door for the devil to take over their minds.

* Two people cannot say that they are "in love" if God is not in the relationship because GOD IS LOVE.

* God gave us the emotions that we have and He doesn't like it when our emotions are being toyed with in boyfriend/girlfriend relationships.

* God want to present us to our spouse untouched and without spot or wrinkle in our hearts.

* You are not ready for a relationship until God has total control of your heart and control of your life.

How do I stay pure?

1. Surround yourself with people who are striving to stay pure just like you so that you can help each other.
2. Spend more time with God than you spend with anyone you are attracted to. ( In turn, your spirit man will be more built up than your flesh).

Knowing God..

For August and September the topic we will focus on is Knowing God. If you know who God is and have a relationship with Him, it will be easy to keep your virginity, honor and obey your parents, stay pure, read your Bible, worship, fear Him, and give your life to Him. This is the foundation you must have to maintain a Godly lifestyle.
Here are some of the notes from what I shared...

Before we talk about who God is we need to find out what He is NOT.

God is NOT:
1. Mean
2. Frustrated With Us
3. Angry
3. Stupid ( He knows everything)
4. Forceful or Controlling

God is:
1. Merciful
2. Closer than a brother
3. Friendly
4. BIG - He runs the universe
5. He is, "I AM" - He is whatever you need

Most importantly He wants to have a relationship with us.. Don't ever let the things you've done, keep you from going to Him.

The Cost

For July, we talked about.... "The Cost". What is the cost you pay for living ungodly? We also shared different things the devil uses to get young people to live for him. We taught from John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.

The enemy tries to come against teenagers in the following areas:

1. Wrong Friends
-Teenagers listen to their friends before they listen to their teachers, their youth pastor, and even their parents. So having the right friends is vital!! If the enemy can't persuade you to do something, he'll get your friends to talk you into it. Get it?

2. Music
- The enemy uses the music industry to persuade young people to live a certain way. Through music artist and videos.

3. Boyfriend/Girlfriend Relationships
- The enemy likes to see young men and young women hurt each other. But God hates it. Don't be a heart breaker. Some people say what goes around comes around, the Bible says, you reap what you sow.
- God is a Jealous God. He doesn't like when we give all our time, emotions and heart to someone of the opposite sex when He isn't getting any love. Understand me?
- If the devil can get you to loose your virginity and have sex just one time... it will be easy for him to tempt you to do it again, and again, and again.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF LIVING RIGHT????

1. Help from the Holy Spirit
-Once you have made the decision that you want to do right, God will help you. Isn't that simple?

2. Desires of your Heart
-If you delight in Him He will bless you. God is actually waiting on you to live your life for him so that He can give you those things that you ask him for.

3. Long Life
- Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly." So last, God has set this up so that, if we live according to His word, we WILL live long and enjoy life.
